The contact owns a 2007 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH and attempting to depress the brake pedal, there was an abnormal clicking and popping sound coming from the brakes. No warning light was illuminated. An independent mechanic was contacted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed and it was determined that the wheel bearings and the brakes were loose on the passenger’s side of the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 162,000.
My alternator keep draining my new batteries from to much electrical pull and turns off all my digital dash and says my brake system is in failure and there is something wrong with the suspension in the front end even though I have had it fixed and the same problem has returned . I had my battery explode. The transmission jerks whenever it shifts and the transmission fluid is full and I maintain it on a regular basis. It is driven in town only. I am scared of it catching on fire now since I just saw that it is still has a recall that has not been repaired and I bought it used and I was told all recalls were taken care of. I have my grandchildren in this vehicle weekly. I want to see about getting this looked at and repaired correctly. I fear for my safety.

THERE WAS NO WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT IT WAS AN UNUSUAL FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE NHTSA. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 136,000.

THE PART WAS MANUFACTURED BY ULTRA POWER (PART NUMBER: RK620486). WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE PASSENGER SIDE CONTROL ARM FRACTURED APPROXIMATELY TWO WEEKS AFTER INSTALLATION. DUE TO THE FAILURE, ONE OF THE TIRES BLEW OUT AND THE DRIVER LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. A LOCAL FORD DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 191,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

I KEPT HEARING A STRANGE NOISE WHEN I APPLIED MY BRAKES. WHEN I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN THEIR DIAGNOSIS WAS THAT A PIN WAS BREAKING ON THE FRONT CALIPER ON THE FRONT RIGHT TIRE. THEY REPLACED THE PIN, RIGHT FRONT WHEEL BEARING ASSEMBLY, AND HUB. THEY REPLACED THE FRONT BRAKE PADS AND INSPECTED THE BRAKE SYSTEM. I WAS GOING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH WHILE TURNING RIGHT WHEN I HEARD A CLUNKING NOISE AND THE RIGHT SIDE OF MY CAR DIPPED MORE THAN IT SHOULD. THE RIGHT WHEEL (LOOKING OUT FROM THE VEHICLE) SEEMED TO "GIVE" WHEN IT TURNED. I TOOK IT INTO A BODY SHOP AND THEY SAID THAT THE BALL JOINT WAS LOOSE AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT THE MILEAGE ON MY CAR WAS APPROXIMATELY 48K. I HAVE ONLY HIGHWAY MILES AND DO NOT DO ANY OFF-ROADING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 69,000.

APPROXIMATELY 6 WEEKS AGO I FOUND OUT THAT I HAD A BIG PROBLEM WITH MY CAR. I WAS TOLD I WAS NOT TO DRIVE IT BECAUSE IF THE PTO UNIT WENT OUT MY REAR WHEELS WOULD NOT FUNCTION BECAUSE IT IS ALL WHEEL DRIVE AND IT WOULD BE DANGEROUS TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. WELL FORD MOTOR COMPANY WAS TO SHIP PARTS OUT IN 2 WEEKS, WELL THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN. THEN AGAIN I WAS TOLD THE PARTS WOULD BE HERE LAST WEEK AND THEY TOOK ME OFF BACK ORDER AND SAID MY PARTS WOULD BE HERE BY MONDAY JUNE 4TH. WELL GUESS WHAT MY PART DIDN'T MAKE IT. THE LIST OF BACK ORDERS ACCORDING TO [XXX] AT FORD MOTOR COMPANY IS 1700 AS OF YESTERDAY. SO HOW MANY ORDERS HAVE THEY ALREADY FILLED? THEY ONLY USED THIS TRANSMISSION IN 2 VEHICLES FOR EITHER 1 OR 2 YEARS. I KNOW THAT SOME PEOPLE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR MONTHS. AT LEAST 3 TO 4 ALREADY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE DEALER REPLACED BOTH REAR HUBS. THE FAILURE RECURRED WITHIN EIGHTEEN MONTHS.
