2007 GMC YUKON DENALI. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO CRACKED TRANSMISSION AND BAD MOTOR MOUNTS. *LD THE CONSUMER REQUESTED THAT THE VEHICLE BE REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY. *JS
TRAVELING AT A LOW SPEED ON MY PROPERTY AND THE TRUCK ENTERED INTO A "REDUCED POWER" MODE. WHICH CUT OFF ALL POWER TO THE DRIVE TRAIN. YOU WERE LEFT WITH NO ABILITY TO GO FRONT OR BACK. AFTER SHUTTING OFF THE TRUCK AND RESTARTING IT RETURNED TO NORMAL. LOCAL GMC DEALER SAYS HE GETS ONE A MONTH FOR THIS CONDITION. COSTS TO REPAIR EXCEEDS A $1000. LOST OF POWER COULD HAPPEN ANY TIME. VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. *TR
WHEN STOP FEEL LIKE SOMEBODY HIT ME FROM THE BACK ONE GUY TOLD ME THAT MY TRANSMISSION. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC SIERRA. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPED INTO THE THIRD AND FOURTH GEARS AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC SIERRA 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, HE HEARD A LOUD POP AND THE VEHICLE THEN FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS FOUND THAT A COMPONENT IN THE TRANSMISSION HAD FAILED. THE CONTACT WAS UNSURE OF THE EXACT COMPONENT. THE VEHICLE WAS BEING REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,000.
70,000 MILES LOW OIL LIGHT COMES ON, JUST HAD MY OIL CHANGED 1000 MILE BEFORE. TOOK IN TO GM DEALER THEY TOLD ME OIL PAN GASKET WAS BAD. REPAIRED. 1000 MILES LATER LOW OIL LIGHT CAME ON, TOOK BACK TO DEALERSHIP. NO ISSUE FOUND. TRUCK JUST BURNING OIL! *TR THE TRUCK KEEPS USING 2 TO 3 QUARTS OF OIL DEALER WILL NOT DO ANYTHING. CALL GM THEY ADVISE TO GO TO DEALERSHIP AND DO OIL CONSUMPTION TEST. DID THIS TAKING IT BACK TO DEALERSHIP EVERY 500 MILES TO HAVE OIL CHECKED. USED 2-1/2 QUARTS OF OIL BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. TOLD DEALER THIS WAS NOT NORMAL TO FIX MY TRUCK. DEALER ADVISED GM WOULD NOT FIX MY TRUCK BECAUSE THIS IS NORMAL USAGE. IT IS NOW USING ABOUT 3 QUARTS BETWEEN OIL CHANGES. GM TOLD ME TO GO BACK TO DEALER TO HAVE ANOTHER OIL CONSUMPTION TEST DONE. WE SEE THEY HIDE PROBLEMS WELL, AS WAS THE LAST RECALL. HOW ABOUT GETTING THEM TO ADDRESS OR FIX THIS ISSUE. THEY ARE STILL ADVERTISING THE AFM ENGINE , AND RAISING THE NORMAL OIL USAGE FROM A QUART TO 2 QUARTS. AS ANYONE CAN SEE WITH THE LATEST RECALLS THEY WILL HIDE OR NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM. THEY ARE WORRIED ABOUT THEIR BOTTOM LINE. NOT THE CUSTOMER. SEE HOW MANY CHANGES AND SERVICE BULLETINS HAVE BEEN ISSUED DUE TO THIS OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE. MY GM CASE # 71-1118075589. THEY TEND TO CLOSE THESE CASE NUMBERS QUICK. AND THEN THEY ASSIGN YOU ANOTHER CASE NUMBER EACH TIME YOU CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE TO HIDE THE FACT THEY HAVE PROBLEMS. WHEN DEALER DOES OIL CONSUMPTION I FIND THEY DO NOT SHOW ANYTHING BACK TO GM OR ATTACH A RECORD TO YOUR VIN #. LAST COUPLE OF TIME I SPOKE TO GM CUSTOMER SERVICE, THEY HAD NO RECORD OF ME EVER HAVING AN OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEM. AND MY LAST CASE NUMBER DID NOT SHOW UP IN THEIR SYSTEM. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO TO SEE THE PROBLEM IS "GOOGLE " GM 5.3 OIL CONSUMPTION PROBLEM. YOU WILL FIND MORE THAN A FEW COMPLAINTS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC SIERRA 1500. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE JERKED VIOLENTLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPLACED A SECOND TIME. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,499.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 GMC SIERRA HD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION LINES HAVE BEEN LEAKING FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE WARRANTY DID NOT COVER ANY REPAIRS RELATED TO THE POWER TRAIN. THE CONTACT IS CONCERNED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR HIS YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL VEHICLE. THE TRANSMISSION LINES HAVE BEEN REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 83,000.
