2002 GMC YUKON XL REAR TAILGATE GLASS FAILED/BROKEN HINGE DUE TO POOR DESIGN. THIS RESULTS IN THE REAR GLASS HELD ON BY ONE HINGE INSTEAD OF TWO. REAR GLASS DOES NOT CLOSE PROPERLY AND IS AT RISK TO DETACH FROM VEHICLE. MANY OWNERS OF THIS VEHICLE (AND SISTER VEHICLES TAHOE AND SUBURBAN) HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS DEFECT. GM FAILS TO ACKNOWLEDGE OR ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY. *TR
BOTH HEATED REARVIEW MIRRORS CRACK SIDE NEXT TO CAR AT HEATING ELEMENT AND THEN THE CRACK MOVES ACROSS THE MIRROR. *NM
WHEN THE DEFROSTER WAS TURNED ON, IT CAUSED THE WINDSHIELD TO CRACK.*JB
REAR SIDE MIRROR ON BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE HAVE HAIRLINE CRACKS. THEY WERE REPLACED AND NOW THEY ARE BACK. THE HAIRLINE CRACK IN THE MIRROR DISTORTS VIEWS AND IS A SAFETY CONCERN. I BELIEVE THE MIRRORS ARE TOO THIN TO HANDLE THE DEFROST OPTIONS ON THE MIRRORS. THEY SEEN TO FAIL ON THEIR OWN. *NM
FRONT HEATER ONLY OPERATES AT FULL TEMPERATURE SETTING 82 DEGREES. OTHERWISE, THE HEATER IS BLOWING COLD AIR, ABOUT THE OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATURE. THE ONLY WAY TO REGULATE INSIDE TEMPERATURE IS TO SET AT 82 DEGREES, THEN TURN SYSTEM OFF UNTIL THE CABIN IS COLD, THEN TURN HEATER BACK ON, ETC. THIS NEEDS TO BE DONE EVERY FEW MINUTES, CAUSING CONSTANT DRIVER DISTRACTION. DEALER IS ADVISING GM TECH CENTER IS STATING THE SYSTEM IS OPERATING AS DESIGNED. DT
