vehicle makes loud rattling noise on startup, while driving engine stalls upon checking engine it continues to run but belts do not turn n has no power. Also steering rack leaks as well as steering pump, has water in tail lens, evaporating system check engine light is on. Vehicle was diagnosed by repair shop n referred to take to dealer ... the problems was confirmed by independent service center
WHILE DRIVING MY GENESIS 2010 SEDAN, THE BATTERY LIGHT ILLUMINATED, THEN THE POWER STEERING DID NOT RESPOND. I WAS ABOUT 1/2 MILES FROM MY HOUSE AND I HAD TO WRESTLE WITH MY STEERING WHEEL UNTIL I GOT HOME. THE SCARY PART WAS THAT I UNEXPECTEDLY LOST POWER STEERING DURING A TURN AT THE TRAFFIC LIGHT. LUCKILY, NO ON COMING TRAFFIC WAS NEAR AS I COMPLETED THE TURN ON THE OPPOSITE SLIDE OF THE STREET. I FORTUNATELY ARRIVE HOME, PARKED THE VEHICLE AND HAD IT TOWED TO THE MECHANICS. I LEARNED THAT THE ALTERNATOR WENT OUT AND SO DID THE BATTERY. LUCKLY, DURING THE TURN I DID NOT CRASH, BUT IT WAS VERY NERVOUS THE REST OF THE WAY.
VEHICLE STEERING WHEEL HAS CONTINUED TO MAKE A LOUD CLICKING/CLUNKING NOISE DURING TURNING, PRIMARILY COUNTER CLOCKWISE. DEALERSHIP HAS REPLACED CLOCKSPRING (1ST VISIT), LUBRICATED STEERING COMPONENTS(2ND VISIT) AND HAS NOW DENIED A "PROBLEM AT ALL" PER THEIR DISTRICT PARTS AND SERVICES MANAGER. NO ONE IS UNABLE TO COME TO A RESOLUTION AS TO WHY THIS NOISE IS OCCURRING, OR WHAT IT CAUSING IT TO OCCUR TO BE ABLE TO DETERMINE IF IT IS CREATING A DRIVING HAZARD ON THE ROAD OR NOT. THEY ARE ALSO UNABLE TO DEMONSTRATE TO ME THAT IT DOESN'T POSE A DRIVING HAZARD. DUE TO THE NOISES THE STEERING WHEEL MAKES, I AM UNEASY DRIVING THE VEHICLE IN FEAR OF LOSING COMPLETE STEERING ABILITY IN THE VEHICLE. DEALERSHIP, DISTRICT MANAGER, AND CONSUMER RELATIONS HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO ASSIST IN DETERMINING IF THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD, OR POOR MANUFACTURING. *TR
TILT-TELESCOPE STEERING WHEEL STOPPED RAISING, CAUSING IT TO BOTH BLOCK VISIBILITY OF PART OF DASHBOARD AND LIMIT EGRESS FOR DRIVERS. WAS REPAIRED TWICE AND FAILED A TOTAL OF THREE TIMES. DEALER HAS REPLACED MODULE WHICH WAS REPUTED TO CORRECT PROBLEM, AND HAS CONFERRED WITH HYUNDAI, BUT IT RECURS IN THREE TO FOUR WEEKS. THERE WAS NO INCIDENT TO REPORT TO POLICE NOR WAS THERE DAMAGE.
TITL - TELESCOPIC STEERING WHEEL BECOMES LOCKED IN LOWEST HEIGHT SETTING TOTALLY BLOCKING ALL INSTRUMENTS ON THE DASHBOARD AND GREATLY RESTRICTING EXIT FROM THE CAR UNDER ALL TYPES OF CONDITIONS. ESPECIALLY A PROBLEM FOR THOSE WITH LIMITED MOBILITY CAUSED BY AGE, INJURIES, OPERATIONS, ETC. HYUNDAI HAS NO FIX ALTHOUGH THE CAR HAS BEEN RETURNED TO THEM 5 TIMES. APPLIES TO 2009, 2010, 2011 GENESIS SEDAN MODELS. *TR
CAR SEVERELY PULLS TO THE RIGHT, WAS LIKE THIS FROM THE DAY IT LEFT THE DEALERSHIP. I HAVE TAKEN IT BACK TO DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT ALL ALIGNMENT SPECS ARE IN SOEC AND DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO 2 OTHER ALIGNMENT SHOPS AND EVERYTHING IS IN SPEC BUT CAR STILL PULL SO HARD TO THE RIGHT, DOES NOT TRACK STRAIGHT. I HAVE TESTED ON ALL TYPES OF ROAD SURFACES AND NO CHANGE. I HAVE CHANGED TO NEW TIRES AND STILL TRACKS TO THE RIGHT, THERE ARE MANY MANY PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME THING ONLINE. *LN
