I HAVE A 2000 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX GT AND AM GETTING READY TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER FOR THE 3RD TIME SINCE OWNING IT (I PURCHASED IT AS NEW VEHICLE). IT SEEMS THE HEATER MOTOR/HEATER RESISTOR GOES BAD ABOUT EVERY 2 YEARS. I HAVE READ MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS ON THIS PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET *TR
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SUBSTANCE IN THE ELECTROCROMATIC REAR VIEW MIRROR HAD BROKEN DOWN WHICH CAUSED A DUPLICATE VIEW OF THE OBJECT BEING VIEWED. THE IMAGE IN THE MIRROR IS DISTORTED, AND IS WORSE WHEN DRIVEN AT NIGHT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ON 07/17/06 AND DETERMINED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BROUGHT TO A SERVICE DEALERSHIP. THE SERVICE DEALER WAS CONTACTED ON 07/17/06 AND DETERMINED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO INSPECTED BY A SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE AT A DEALERSHIP. ON 07/19/06, THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY THE DEALERSHIP AND DETERMINED THAT THE PROBLEM COULD NOT FIXED, BUT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED WITH A NEW REAR VIEW MIRROR. MIRROR WAS ORDERED ON 07/21/06 AND WILL BE REPAIRED BY THE OWNER.
WINDSHIELD WIPERS WILL NOT DISBURSE FLUID TO THE WINDSHIELD. IF I NEED TO CLEAN THE WINDSHIELD, I HAVE TO ROLL WINDOW DOWN, SPRAY FLUID ONTO WINDSHIELD,R OLL WINDOW BACK UP AND ALL WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. *JB
BLOWER MOTOR FAILED. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, FOR THOSE OF US WHO LIVE IN COLD CLIMATES AND DRIVE THROUGH SNOW AND RISK THE POSSIBILITY OF NOT BEING ABLE TO REMOVE FROZEN RAIN AND SNOW FROM THE WINDSHIELD WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THERE ARE MANY GRAND PRIES THAT HAVE HAD THEIR BLOWERS FAIL. THIS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A SAFETY ISSUE AND TAKEN SERIOUSLY, AND SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE SO THAT AN ALREADY DANGEROUS DRIVING SITUATION (IEEE DRIVING IN SNOW) IS NOT MADE WORSE WHEN SOMEONE ELSE SUDDENLY FINDS THAT THEIR BLOWER IS NO LONGER WORKING.*AK
POWER WINDOW ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND BOTH REAR WINDOWS WERE INOPERATIVE. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT ALL THE WINDOWS REGULATORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.*AK
PURCHASED 2000 GRAND PRIX IN DECEMBER OF 2003. EVERY WINDOW (4) IN THE CAR HAD THE POWER WINDOW MOTOR FAIL. WINDOW FALLS DOWN AND WILL NOT STAY UP. POWER WINDOW MOTOR COMPLETE FAILURE. HAD TO REPLACE AND REPAIR IN EXCESS OF $1,600. *AK
REAR AND FRONT SIDE POWER WINDOWS DO NOT ROLL DOWN OR ROLL UP. VEHICLE HAD BEEN TO DEALER SEVERAL TIMES, BUT PROBLEM WAS NOT RESOLVED. *AK
MY CAR IS A 2000 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX GTP. IN OCTOBER 2003 AND MARCH 2004 I HAVE HAD POWER WINDOW FAILURES. THE FIRST INCIDENT INVOLVED THE DRIVER'S WINDOW AND THE SECOND INVOLVED THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR WINDOW. THE TOTAL COST OF THE FIRST REPAIR WAS $457. THE SECOND REPAIR IS ESTIMATED TO BE AT LEAST $400. I HAVE READ MANY SIMILAR EXPERIENCES ON THE INTERNET WITH WINDOW FAILURES, AS MANY AS 11 TIMES ON ONE CAR. I WAS EVEN ALERTED TO A LAW FIRM CONSIDERING A CLASS ACTION SUIT ON THE MATTER.*AK
MY 2000 GRAND PRIX HAS HAD THE WINDOW CABLES REPAIRED ON THE PASSANGER SIDE, NOW THE DRIVERSIDE MUST BE REPAIRED, DUE TO CABLE INSIDE THE DOOR BREAKING. THIS REPAIR COST $430.00 EACH TIME!*AK
ONGOING PROBLEM WITH WATER LEAKING ONTO THE PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR BOARD. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO REPLACED THE HEATER RESISTOR AND THE BLOWER. BUT THE PROBLEM RECURRED. *AK
I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE TWO OF THE MOTORS FOR MY WINDOWS (ONE OF THEM IN A REAR WINDOW WHICH IS NEVER EVEN USED!). I WORK WITH 5 OTHER PEOPLE THAT HAVE HAD AT LEAST TWO-FOUR MOTORS GO OUT ON THEIR PONTIACS ALSO. THIS APPEARS TO BE A RECURRING PROBLEM WITH PONTIAC AND HAS CAUSED ME TO RECONSIDER BUYING A NEW GRAND PRIX.
3 OUT OF 4 WINDOWS DO NOT OPERATE ON A 4YR OLD CAR BECAUSE A LITTLE PLASTIC RETAINER CLIP BROKE ON EACH WINDOW LEAVING THE WINDOW UN OPERABLE. THE DRIVER WINDOW ,THE DRIVER SIDE REAR WINDOW AND THE PASSENGER REAR WINDOW. *JB
WHILE TRAVELING ON HIGHWAY WINDSHIELD WILL MAKE KNOCKING NOISE AND VIBRATE LOUDLY, THE DEALER IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. *AK
WHILE DRIVING SUN WAS GLARING INTO WINDSHIELD. CONSUMER COULD NOT SEE. HAD TO STOP. WINDSHIELD HAD A LOT OF GLARE. *AK
DUAL AIR CONTROL BLOWS HOT AIR WHEN TEMPERATURE IS SET ANYWHERE BETWEEN 65 AN 90. SOMETIMES ONLY THE PASSENGER SIDE WILL BLOW HOT WHILE THE DRIVER'S SIDE ADJUSTS TO CORRESPONDING TEMPERATURE SET. *AK
2001, PONTIAC, GRAND PRIX; REARVIEW MIRROR WOULD SEVERELY VIBRATE WHILE TRAVELING. DEALER NOTIFIED, AND INFORMED CONSUMER THAT THE PROBLEM WAS DUE TO THE ADHESIVE USED, AND THERE WERE NO REPAIRS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME.*AK

WHILE TRAVELING AND WITHOUT ANY INDICATION WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING, CAUSING POOR VISIBILITY. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
