This page combines three types of NHTSA data: recall campaigns (official manufacturer or government actions), owner complaints (unverified consumer reports), and crash test ratings (where available). A vehicle with many complaints is not necessarily less reliable — complaint volume correlates with sales volume and vehicle age. Recalls indicate identified defects, not overall quality. To compare this model year with others, use the year navigation in the sidebar or return to the model overview page.

Over time the transmission cooling line to the radiator was rubbing against another part in the engine compartment resulting in a hole in the line and eventually catastrophic failure of the line. This caused transmission fluid to be sprayed around the engine compartment and the roadway creating an environmental issue. This could cause loss of power, fire and damage to the environment. Online other users of same make model and year have reported the same issue.
The contact owns a 2013 Ram 2500. The contact stated while the vehicle was turned off and in park(P), the vehicle shifted into reverse after the contact’s son bumped into the column shifter. As a result, the vehicle rolled down hill coming to a complete stop after striking a fence post. The air bags did not deploy. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V821000 (Power Train); the VIN was included, but the vehicle had already been repaired. A Police report was not filed. No injury was reported. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance but informed the contact that the vehicle had previously been repaired under recall in 2019. The failure mileage was 116,000.
Hi, I own a 2013 Dodge Ram 2500 and the door locks do not lock all the time. The concern here is that when I have children in the truck the child safety locks do not lock and to me this is a concern. I had the door lock actuators replaced and that still didnt fix the problem. After doing research, there is a body control module that controls all electrical functions to the interior of the truck. If you use a scan tool and clear any codes in the module the door locks work perfectly for about 5-6 start cycles. The part #68200252AG is not available through mopar and has no replacement part number that supersedes the old one. Other item to note is this part number is the 6th updated revision. There is something wrong here and Mopar doesnt seem to care.
hi beam, low beam, both sides flicker, go off, then come on. Driver's side (low and hi beam) is now permanently off even after having a repair shop fix them.
DTC C0020-01 appeared after hitting a speed bump along with service TCS and ABS system. This message is displayed sometimes at random but mostly during common bumps in the road. Any wheel spin during wet weather also creates the message. Contacted the local Chrysler deal and was informed this was common and to report it. I have yet to spend money to fix the issue since finding that the wrong part is often replaced and I am no longer under warranty.
Front passenger door and both rear door locks operate intermittently. . Doors will unlock with key fob or either front door buttons or front door handles; but they will intermittently lock with key fob or front door buttons or while in drive. Doors not locking keep child safety locks from engaging and children being able to exit vehicle without being in park. Also, prevents vehicle from being securely locked and protecting from theft of items. Truck been to dealership and told of problem they checked but could only get it to replicate issue 2 times and found nothing causing the problem. I have also found multiple Ram forums with a lot of people with same issue. There haven't been any warning lamps or messages before or during issues. The problem is intermittently and has last anywhere from a couple of days to several months at a time.

DOOR LOCKS NOT OPERATING PROPERLY WITH KEY FOB, DOOR PANEL CONTROL OR KEYLESS TOUCH ENTRY MECHANISMS. STARTED AS INTERMITTENT ISSUE BUT IS NOW HARD FAILURE...PROBLEM MANIFESTS WITH FOLLOWING SYMPTOM: USING ANY LOCK/UNLOCK MODE ONLY THE DRIVERS DOOR AND TAILGATE LOCK/UNLOCK, WHEREAS THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR AND TWO REAR DOORS DO NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK WITH ANY AVAILABLE MECHANISM...ADDITIONALLY, THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR AND TWO REAR DOORS DO NOT LOCK WITH THE SPEED ACTUATED LOCKING MECHANISM EITHER. THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE AND HAS BEEN BROUGHT UP IN SEVERAL OWNERS FORUMS.
THE TRACK BAR MOUNTS HAVE ALL THE WELDS CRACKED AND IT CAUSES THE TRUCK TO SHAKE UNCONTROLLABLY AND IS VERY DANGEROUS. I HAVE ALMOST CRASHED TWICE DUE TO THIS PROBLEM. I SEE THAT FCA CURRENTLY HAS A RECALL FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM R46, MY TRUCK FALLS WITHIN THE MODEL AND YEARS BUT FOR SOME REASON IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. I NOTICED THE PROBLEM DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 60 MPH THE TRUCK BEGAN TO SHAKE IN A VIOLENT AND UNCONTROLLABLE MANNER ALL THE CARS AROUND ME SLAMMED THEIR BRAKES TO STAY AWAY. I WAS ABLE TO BRAKE DOWN TO 20 MPH WHEN THE SHAKING STOPPED. I PULLED OVER TO THE EMERGENCY LANE TO EXAMINE MY TRUCK AND NOTICED THE CRACKED WELDS ON THE TRACK BAR MOUNT. I NEED TO HAVE THIS FIXED UNDER THE RECALL AS THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY PROBLEM FOR MY SELF AND MY FELLOW DRIVERS I SHARE THE ROAD WITH.
I WAS DRIVING MY GMC ACADIA WHEN IT STARTED TO SMOKE SO I PULLED OVER AND IT WAS ON FIRE. THE WHOLE CAR BURNT.
ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS RECENTLY, THE STEERING ON MY 2013 DODGE 2500 EXHIBITED A VIOLENT SHAKING WHEN I HIT A SMALL LINEAR RIDGE ON THE INTERSTATE WHILE TRAVELING AT THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT SUCH AS GOING OVER A BRIDGE OR THE LINE FROM ASPHALT INSTALLED OVER OLD CONCRETE SECTIONS.. THIS VIOLENT SHAKING ALMOST SENT THE TRUCK OFF THE ROAD AND ONLY STOPPED WHEN I SLOWED DOWN BELOW 30 MPH. I HAVE TAKEN THE TRUCK TO THE DODGE DEALER AND ALSO A LOCAL GARAGE AND THE DRAG LINK IS BENT AND THE TIE-ROD ENDS HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. I WAS TOLD THE BENT DRAG LINK WAS A RESULT OF THE VIOLENT SHAKING CALLED THE "DEATH WOBBLE". THE COST TO REPAIR THE STEERING SYSTEM IS OVER $2200 AND THIS TRUCK ONLY HAS 126,000 MILES ON IT.
WHILE ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY. MY RAM 2500 EXPERIENCED A IMMEDIATE LOSS OF POWER. CAUSING A NEAR COLLISION FROM FOLLOWING VEHICLES. UPON TAKING IT IN FOR SERVICE .IT WAS FOUND THAT THE DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER HAD EXPLODED AND PLUGED UP THE CATALYTIC FILTER. I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. I CONTACTED CHRYSLER, BECAUSE MY TRUCK WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. THEY SAID IT WAS A WEAR ITEM SO WOULD NOT BE COVERED. HOW IS A CATASTROPHIC FAILURE, A WEAR ITEM ?
