The ABS - Anti-Skid lights come on and off intermittently while driving, or it's actually done this just sitting still a few times. When it first started around July 2023 the truck had about 90k miles on it. I called the dealership, they said keep driving it till it stayed on all the time so they could track what was causing it. Well it never stays on, it is on/off at random. The random occurrence nearly caused a bad wreck while driving onto an on ramp wet road. The truck dinged as I was making the turn, it started spinning sideways and when I got stopped, I was sideways, I had to move quickly to get out of other cars way. When I tried to go it spun around the other way sideways, stopping traffic. I was lucky the other cars brakes worked or I would have been T-Boned. If I had been pulling the trailer or boat there would have been no way to control the spin or brake sliding, which I am positive would have been a bad wreck. I was not going too fast either, about 30-35 when all this happened. Dodge Ram company needs to fix this issue NOW before someone gets killed. I have an excellent driving record and want to keep it that way. I cannot pull my camper, boat or equipment trailer now cause I'm afraid this will happen and not be so lucky. Sad thing is, Dodge knows about this and are doing nothing about it.
THE 2019 TRAVATO WAS BUILT ON THIS RAM 2500 CHASSIS. WINNEBAGO GLUED HEAVY, SILVER ALUMINUM TRIM STRIPS TO THE BOTTOM OF ALL SECTIONS OF THIS VAN. WE HAD THE ONE ON THE DRIVER'S DOOR FALL OFF WHILE PARKED IN LAS VEGAS IN MARCH OF 2019. WE HAD THIS REATTACHED WHICH WAS COVERED BY WARRANTY. IN NOVEMBER OF 2019 WE DISCOVERED OVER EIGHT MORE SECTIONS COMING LOOSE AND IT WAS GOING TO COST $1,300.00 TO HAVE THEM REINSTALLED. WE WERE TOLD THAT THERE WAS NO GUARANTEE THAT WE WOULD NOT HAVE TO HAVE THEM REINSTALLED 4 OR 5 YEARS LATER. WE ELECTED TO HAVE THEM REMOVED INSTEAD. THESE ARE HEAVY PIECES OF METAL THAT ARE EXPOSED TO HIGH WIND GUSTS WHILE TRAVELLING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. IF ONE (OR MORE) SHOULD FLY OFF WHILE IN TRANSIT, THEY COULD DAMAGE VEHICLES FOLLOWING US OR EVEN CAUSE A FATAL ACCIDENT.
Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA. A high complaint count may reflect vehicle popularity, not defect severity. Data sourced from NHTSA public records.
