TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 RAM 2500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LOW-BEAM HEADLAMPS HAD BEEN REPLACED EVERY 3 MONTHS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER FISHER CHEVROLET BUICK GMC (775 E 32ND ST, YUMA, AZ 85365, (928) 257-3580) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING THE HEADLAMPS TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 10,000.
ALL RAM TRUCKS ARE EQUIPPED WITH DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS, HOWEVER FOR THE US MODELS, THE MANUFACTURE DISABLES THE FEATURE TO CHARGE THE CONSUMER TO HAVE THEM ACTIVATED. A SAFETY FEATURE SHOULD NOT BE AN ELECTIVE FEATURE SHOULD BE INCLUDED WHEN YOU PURCHASE THE VEHICLE. THERE ARE MANY HIGHWAYS WITHIN THE US THAT REQUIRE HEADLIGHTS ON DURING THE DAY, WHY NOT ACTIVATE THESE DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT TO MAKE THE ROADWAYS SAFER FOR ALL. I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO HAVE THEM ACTIVATED AND DEALER WANTS TO CHARGE THE HOURLY LABOR RATE TO ACTIVATE.
Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA. A high complaint count may reflect vehicle popularity, not defect severity. Data sourced from NHTSA public records.
