STRONG FUEL SMELL THROUGH THE HEATING / DEFROST / AIR-CONDITIONING SYSTEM WHEN STOPPED / STATIONARY. THIS IS A CONTINUOUS PROBLEM.
WHEN FILLING THE GAS TANK, GAS CONTINUED TO PUMP WHEN THE TANK WAS FULL AND IT OVERFLOWED OUT OF THE TANK ONTO THE GROUND. I ASSUMED IT WAS A BROKEN PUMP AT THE GAS STATION, AND REPORTED THE SPILL TO THE CLERK. NEXT REFUELING AT A DIFFERENT STATION IT HAPPENED AGAIN. ONLY WAY TO PREVENT IT IS TO LEAVE THE CAR RUNNING WHILE REFUELING SO YOU CAN WATCH THE GAS GAUGE RISE AND STOP BEFORE IT GETS TOO FULL. THERE IS NO WAY TO MISUSE OR ABUSE THIS PART OF THE CAR, SO ONE CAN ASSUME THE PART WAS DEFECTIVE. DEALERSHIP INFORMED MY IT WOULD COST $1400 TO FIX.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT FUEL FUMES WERE EMITTED INTO THE VEHICLE AND FUEL WAS LEAKING FROM THE FUEL TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 87,870.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. AFTER REFUELING THE VEHICLE, IT FAILED TO START. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE KEY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V373000 (AIR BAGS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) HOWEVER, THE PART NEEDED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000. UPDATED 4/15/15*CN
HAD JUST GASSED UP TO A FULL TANK. I LEFT GAS STATION AND HIT APROX. 40 MPH AND ENGINE DIED. DRIVEN APROX QTR MILE FROM GAS STATION. HAS HAPPENED EVERYTIME I FILL UP TANK SINCE THE FIRST INCIDENT. *TR
WHEN DONE FUELING THE VEHICLE, GAS WILL FLOW BACK OUT OF THE TANK AND ALL OVER THE CAR AND GROUND. *TR
THIS COMPLAINT IS FOR THE FUEL PUMP. BEGAN TO PROCEED FROM A STOP AFTER THE TRAFFIC LIGHT TURNED GREEN. VAN DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION. POWER STOPPED FUNCTIONING, COASTED TO THE CURB. WOULD NOT RESTART. REPLACED FUEL PUMP.
WHILE IN FOR WARRANTY REPLACEMENT OF FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS, DEALER REPORTED "WEAPAGE" AT THE SEAM ON FUEL TANK. ESTIMATED REPAIR AT $800 PLUS LABOR. DEFECT WOULD APPEAR TO ME TO BE SAFETY (FIRE) CAUSED BY MANUFACTURING PROCESS. *TR

1. SAFETY DEFECT IN THE WIRELESS IGNITION MODULE (IGNITION) IN 2008 TOWN & COUNTRY (TOURING MODEL). VEHICLE WILL RUN BUT MOST ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS WILL NOT WORK, INCLUDING TURN SIGNALS, WINDOWS, REMOTE MIRRORS, LIGHTS, HORN SEAT, DOOR LOCKS, WINDOW LOCKS, CLOCK, AC RADIO AND WIPERS. THE RESULT OF THE DEFECT INCLUDES INABILITY TO SAFELY OPERATE THE VEHICLE ONCE IN MOTION. DRIVER IS NOT NECESSARILY AWARE OF THE PROBLEM UNTIL THEY GO TO USE THE HORN, LIGHTS, OR TURN SIGNAL. CHRYSLER DENIED THE EXISTENCE OF THE PROBLEM UNTIL I MADE THEM COME TO MY HOME DURING AN EPISODE. 2. DEFECTIVE FUEL PUMP. VEHICLE IDLES EXTREMELY HIGH AND THE ENTIRE VEHICLE VIBRATES VIOLENTLY. CHRYSLER REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP YET THE SAFETY DEFECT CONTINUES. CHRYSLER DENIED REARING OR FEELING THE VIBRATION UNTIL A CHRYSLER FACTORY REP WAS CALLED TO THOMASVILLE IN RESPONSE TO A STATE OF GEORGIA OFFICE OF CONSUMER AFFAIRS LEMON LAW CLAIM. CHRYSLER REPLACE THE PUMP YET THE SAFETY DEFECT CONTINUES. 3. SEVERE GRINDING/SCRAPING NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR TENTER OF THE VEHICLE. TO-DATE, CHRYSLER DENIES THE NOISE AND HAS NOT REPAIRED THE PROBLEM. I FEE THE ISSUE OS ONE OF A POSSIBLE FIRE HAZARD DUE TO ITS PROXIMITY TO THE FUEL SYSTEM AND UNKNOWN DEFECT IN THE FUEL PUMP. *TR
