WHILE DRIVING I HAD SLOWED SLIGHTLY DOWN A HILL AND STARTED TO ACCELERATE UP HILL, WHEN I CRESTED HILL THE GAS PEDAL GOT STUCK. I HAD 2 CHILDREN IN CAR. GOT REALLY SCARED. I QUICKLY SWIPED MY FOOT UNDER PEDAL TO KNOCK ANYTHING BLOCKING OUT OF WAY, NOTHING THERE. I HIT BRAKES, CAR KEPT GOING AS IT WASN'T STRONG ENOUGH TO HOLD IT BACK. THREW CAR IN NEUTRAL AND THE ENGINE WAS SCREAMING. AS I ROLLED TO SIDE THE PEDAL, WITH MANIPULATION, BECAME UNSTUCK. THIS WAS A VERY SCARY INCIDENT, WHICH COULD HAVE ENDED BADLY. I RESEARCHED ON THE NET AND SAW MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS OF THIS NATURE. PLEASE DO SOMETHING. CONSUMERS ARE BEING ROBBED OF THE 2ND BIGGEST ASSET THEY SPEND THEIR HARD EARNED MONEY ON.
I JUST GOT MY CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY, IT HASN'T EVEN BEEN THREE MONTHS SINCE I GOT IT AND NOW THE BAROMETRIC PRESSURE IS LOW WITCH IS CAUSING OTHER PROBLEMS WITCH ALSO CAUSE THE CAR TO SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING I HAVE HAD ONE PERSON TELL ME THAT THE CAR SHOULDN'T BE ON THE ROAD. I WAS MAD BECAUSE I ONLY GOT IT BECAUSE I'M EXPECTING MY THIRD CHILD. I DON'T THINK ITS RIGHT THAT NOW I'M STUCK WITH THE CAR AND THE DEALERSHIP CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT, DON'T GET ME WRONG I LOVE THE CAR IT JUST THE PROBLEMS I'M HAVING WITH THE CAR...THE PART THAT'S ON RECALL ON MY CAR I WAS TOLD THAT CHRYSLER HAS MADE THE PART YET RECALL L25 I DON'T THINK I'LL BE GETTING ANOTHER CHRYSLER. *TR
I WAS DRIVING TO THE STORE AT APPROX. 40 MPH WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN I NOTICED MY DASHBOARD AND MY FUEL GAGE WENT DOWN , MY SPEED DROPPED I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS HAPPENING . MY CAR WAS SLOWING DOWN BUT SINCE I WAS GOING DOWNHILL I COASTED. I REALIZED MY ENGINE HAD SHUT OFF. I PANICKED BUT THANKFULLY THOUGHT TO TURN THE IGNITION SWITCH AND THE CAR TURNED BACK ON. I THOUGHT IT WAS A FLUKE. BUT THIS ISSUE HAS OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES WHILE DRIVING. THE SAME SCENARIO. I REALIZED BY JUST BUMPING THE KEY IT TURNS OFF THE ENGINE. IF I TURN MY IGNITION AND IF I DON'T HOLD IT LONG ENOUGH, IT WILL MOVE BACK TO OFF POSITION. I MEAN I BARELY BUMP IT AND IT CAN TURN OFF. IT HAS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING AT LEAST 4 TIMES. I HAVE NOT GONE TO MY CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT TO PAY AN OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE AND I NO LONGER HAVE THE WARRANTY ON IT. *TR
I'VE BEEN DRIVING ALONG ABOUT 60 AND NEEDED TO ACCELERATE QUICKLY AND FLOORED IT TO PASS, THE ACCELERATOR HAS STUCK AND I'VE HAD TO USE MY BRAKES TO GET IT UNSTUCK. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE THIS MONTH. *TR
AT LOW DRIVING SPEED THE ENGINE DID NOT MAINTAIN IDLE AND STALLED. DUE TO THE ENGINE STALL, THE BRAKES, AND POWER STEERING WERE DISABLED AND THE CAR CONTINUED IN MOTION MOVING FORWARD AT APPROXIMATELY 8 TO 10 MPH. DRIVER WAS ABLE TO MANEUVER TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD AND COAST TO A STOP WITH ONLY THE VERY LIMITED STEERING AND BREAKING POWER REMAINING. ONCE AT A FULL STOP THE CAR WAS ABLE TO RESTART ONCE THE SHIFT LEVER WAS PLACED IN THE PARK POSITION. SINCE THIS INITIAL INCIDENT, THE SAME STALL PROBLEM HAS RECURRED ABOUT TWENTY TIMES IN TOTAL FOR TWO DIFFERENT DRIVERS. EACH TIME THE CAR HAS BEEN IN MOTION AT LOW SPEED AND USUALLY WITH THE DRIVER BACKING OFF THE ACCELERATOR WITH THE DRIVER'S FOOT MOVING OFF THE GAS PEDAL AND ONTO THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY THE DEALER MORE THAN ONCE AND IT WAS STATED BY THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT THE ISSUE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED WHEN TEST DRIVEN. ALSO IT WAS STATED THAT NO FAULT WAS RECORDED BY THE STANDARD COMPUTERIZED TEST OF THE CAR. *TR
WHILE TRAVELING ON FOUR LANE STRETCH OF US23 SOUTH (NORTH OF AU GRES, MI) USING CRUISE CONTROL, A VEHICLE APPROACHED FROM BEHIND. I SWITCHED LANES HIT THE BRAKES TO COAST AND THE CAR DECELERATED. THE OTHER VEHICLE PASSED ON MY LEFT AFTER WHICH, I HIT THE RESUME/ACCELERATE FUNCTION ON THE CRUISE CONTROL (A QUICK UP PUSH OF THE LEVER). THE ENGINE REVVED TO 4-5,000 RPM TO RESUME CRUISE SPEED OF 55MPH BUT ONCE 55 WAS REACHED, THE ENGINE DID NOT SLOW DOWN. I APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE ENGINE DID NOT SLOW DOWN. I PUMPED BRAKES, PUMPED ACCELERATOR, PUSHED THE CRUISE OFF BUTTON MULTIPLE TIMES PUSHED THE CRUISE CONTROL TO DECELERATE MULTIPLE TIMES. NOTHING SLOWED THE ACCELERATION. I PRESSED THE BRAKES AND THE CAR CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. FINALLY I PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND WITH THE CAR CONTINUING TO REV AT 4-5000RPM, I COASTED TO THE SIDE. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND THEN BACK ON AND THE CAR ENGINE WENT RIGHT BACK TO THE SAME RPM. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AGAIN AND WAITED APPROX. TWO MINUTES AND WHEN I RESTARTED, IT FUNCTIONED NORMALLY. I HAVE NOT TRIED THE CRUISE CONTROL SINCE. I HAVE SET AN APPOINTMENT WITH SHUMAN CHRYSLER IN WALLED LAKE, MI AND THEY SAID THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS TYPE OF INCIDENT BEFORE. HOWEVER I DID SEE A SIMILAR INCIDENT WITH A QUICK INTERNET SEARCH. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. I CAN SEE HOW OTHERS DRIVING COULD HAVE HAD MUCH WORSE RESULTS (THINK ABOUT THE TOYOTA INCIDENTS). PLEASE CONTACT ME FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION AND IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO INSPECT THE CAR BEFORE IT GOES TO THE DEALERSHIP. 2008 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO ACCELERATION ISSUES *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS APPLIED IT WOULD STICK AND THEN ENGINE EMITTED A LOUD ROAR. THE CONSUMER STATED HE HAD TO APPLY THE BRAKES WITH GREAT FORCE IN ORDER TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO A STOP. *JB
NO INITIAL SIGN WERE NOTICED, THE FAILURE OCCURRED ONCE AND IT LEFT THE VEHICLE DISABLED NOTHING AT THIS TIME HAS BEEN REPAIRED THE ISSUE IS THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE BECAME UNRESPONSIVE TO THE CONTACTS ATTEMPTS TO ACCELERATE. THE TPS WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENTAL PANEL PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT SHE WOULD NEED TO REPLACE THE FULL BODY THROTTLE LAMP AND PCV VALVE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 52,600.

THE CONTACT APPLIED THE BRAKES AND COASTED TO THE SHOULDER. THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS OR REPAIRS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH THE ACCELERATED PEDAL WAS STUCK. AS THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED HE HAD TO USE HIS LEFT FOOT TO RELEASE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL FROM THE STUCK POSITION TO SLOW THE VEHICLE DOWN.. THE DEALER OR THE MANUFACTURER HAVE NOT BEEN CONTACTED. 2008 TOWN AND COUNTRY TOURING. DRIVING WITH CRUISE CONTROL GOING ABOUT 65MPH AND ALL OF SUDDEN THE ENGINE ACCELERATED AND THEN SLOWED DOWN AND I HAD TO TURN OFF THE CRUISE CONTROL AND HIT THE GAS PEDDLE FINALLY KICKED IN NORMALLY. GOOD THING I WAS NOT IN CITY DRIVING GOING 50MPH AND HAD THIS HAPPEN. *TR
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE I SET THE CRUISE CONTROL WHICH BROKE FROM THE STEERING COLUMN. IT WAS HANGING BY THE WIRES INSIDE THE STEERING COLUMN. AFTER EXITING THE INTERSTATE I MADE A LEFT TURN. THE CRUISE CONTROL STALK GOT ENTANGLED WITH THE TURN SIGNAL CAUSING THE STEERING WHEEL TO BECOME INOPERABLE. MY QUICK FIX WAS TO TAPE THE CRUISE CONTROL STALK TO THE STEERING COLUMN UNTIL A NEW PART COULD BE ORDERED FROM THE DEALER. IT WAS REPLACED IN A TIMELY MANNER BY CHRYSLER.*TR
I PURCHASED A 2008 CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY VAN, I WAS TOLD IT WAS A TRADE IN FROM AN OLD COUPLE THAT NEEDED A 4 WHEEL DRIVE, I LATER FOUND OUT IT WAS A FORMER RENTAL. THE PROBLEM IS THAT WHEN YOU TAKE YOUR FOOT OFF THE GAS THE VEHICLE DOES NOT SLOW DOWN, IT CONTINUES TO GO WHAT EVER SPEED YOU WERE TRAVELING, I HAVE TO DRIVE WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE TO GO THE SPEED LIMIT. I HAVE HAD IT BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY TELL ME THAT THERE IS NOTHING FROM CHRYSLER FOR THIS PROBLEM, I FEEL THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AND I AM AFRAID TO HAVE MY WIFE AND GRANDCHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE. WE ARE GOING TO GET A SPEEDING TICKET BECAUSE YOU CAN'T MAKE THE VEHICLE GO THE SPEED LIMIT WITHOUT HAVING YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE. OR WE ARE GOING TO WIND UP REAR ENDING SOMEONE, BECAUSE YOU EXPECT THE VEHICLE TO SLOW DOWN WHEN YOU TAKE YOUR FOOT OFF OF THE GAS, BUT IT DOESN'T. THE PROBLEM IS CONSISTENT OVER 40 MILES PER HOUR. AND IT HAS BEEN DUPLICATED BY THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE IN QUESTION IS A 2008, CHRYSLER TOWN AND COUNTRY VAN WITH A 3.3L ENGINE. *TR
CRUISE CONTROL WILL SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. VEHICLE MUST BE RESTARTED, WHICH MAY OR MAY NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *TR
BEGINNING WITHIN WEEKS OF PURCHASE, CRUISE CONTROL WILL RANDOMLY NOT TURN ON; MUST RESTART ENGINE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. ALSO, WHEN ON, THE CRUISE CONTROL MAY SUDDENLY TURN OFF, USUALLY NEED TO RESTART ENGINE TO GET IT TO WORK AGAIN. ALL THE ABOVE OCCURS ON A REGULAR BASIS, EVEN AFTER "REPAIRS" BY THE DEALERSHIP. *TR
