THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE CLOCKSPRING FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 135,000.

AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND STATED THAT IT WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE, AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND NOTIFY THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS WAITING ON A SOLUTION TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE VIN AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY VAN. THE FRONT DEFROST MECHANISM FOR HER FRONT WINDSHIELD FAILED TO OPERATE NORMALLY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH AND TRYING TO UTILIZE THE DEFROST MECHANISM IN SNOWY WEATHER, IT FAILED TO ENGAGE. THE ICE CONTINUED TO BUILD UP ON THE FRONT WINDSHIELD AND WIPERS; HOWEVER, THE DEFROST MECHANISM WOULD NOT HELP WITH GETTING THE PRECIPITATION OFF OF THE FRONT WINDSHIELD. ON A SEPARATE OCCASION, THE INCIDENT OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING IN FREEZING COLD WEATHER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THERE WAS A DESIGN FLAW IN THE DEFROST MECHANISM OF HER YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL VEHICLE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE UNDER 15,000.
